Our Values
Our values are the cornerstone of our practice here at Sanctuary Counseling. We’re deeply committed to providing a safe and accepting environment for all of our clients. We strive to create an atmosphere of acceptance, love, support, and comfort – no matter what you’re going through. We believe that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and understood in a caring space filled with understanding.
At Sanctuary:
We love our clients. Really.
We don’t offer band-aids. Only hard work and deep, lasting change.
We check our issues, but not our humanity, at the door.
Sanctuary Counseling Statement of Anti-Racism and Inclusivity
Sanctuary Counseling is committed to promoting anti-racism and inclusivity in all aspects of our work. We are committed to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all our employees and clients. We believe that racism and discrimination in any form have no place in our practice, and we strive to actively challenge and dismantle any systems of oppression that may exist within our organization.
We recognize that racism and discrimination have a profound impact on our community’s mental health and access to mental health services. We are dedicated to actively working to dismantle these systems through ongoing education, advocacy, and allyship. Sanctuary Counseling believes that everyone deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued not “regardless of” but especially “inclusive of” their race, ethnicity, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, age, religion/spirituality, ability, socioeconomic status, or any other aspect of their identity. We are therefore committed to providing culturally responsive and inclusive services that meet the unique needs of our clients, and we continually work to educate ourselves on how to best service our diverse community.
Each of our clinicians is bound to the American Counseling Association’s Code of Ethics, and all our staff equally abide by this set of values. We hold ourselves accountable for upholding these principles in our interactions with clients and with each other. We recognize that being an anti-racist and inclusive organization is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continuously learning, growing, and taking action to create a more just and equitable society.
We welcome feedback from our clients, staff, and community on ways we can improve our practices to better align with our anti-racism and inclusivity values. Together, we can create a community that celebrates diversity, fosters healing, and promotes equality and equal access to mental healthcare for all.
