Heather Kramer Almquist, LPC, MA, ACS, NCC, CT, CDWF

Executive Director, Psychotherapist (She/Her)

Hello there.

Are you feeling stuck in the same pain, the same repeated patterns? Are you struggling to feel truly connected and safe in your relationships? If so, know that you are not alone, and there is help available. As a licensed counselor with nearly 20 years of experience, I specialize in helping individuals find lasting change and healing.

My approach is grounded in psychodynamic therapy, which focuses on exploring the unconscious mo;tivations and conflicts that underlie our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By working at the core of your emotional experiences, we can uncover the root causes of your struggles and develop new ways of moving through the world and connecting with others.

Additionally, I also have extensive experience with attachment theory. Our earliest experiences with caregivers and loved ones shape the way we relate to others throughout our lives, and by understanding our attachment wounds and coping styles, we can develop greater self-awareness and self-compassion.

When working with me, you can expect a holistic approach to therapy that draws from a range of evidence-based techniques including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), feminist therapy, intersectional therapy, and existential therapy. I provide a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore the unconscious factors that influence your behavior and relationships.

Whether you’re struggling with grief, relationship issues, trauma, or personality disorders such as borderline or  narcissistic personality disorder, I have the expertise to help you navigate these challenges. No matter your age, identity, or background, I am committed to hearing your story without judgment and providing a safe and compassionate space for your healing.

I promise to not only listen to you, but to authentically engage with you. I believe in creating a genuine human connection with you, so that we can work collaboratively towards lasting change and healing. I promise to show up as a real person (who happens to know a lot about psychology), and I invite you to do the same.

I cannot wait to meet you, and to hear your story.
